This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what is and is not permitted on the Propagate Hosting platform. It applies to all customers, resellers, and anyone who accesses our services. By using our services you agree to comply with this AUP.

We want to be straightforward: we go out of our way to help our clients and we are not looking for reasons to terminate accounts. But we have an obligation to protect our network, our other clients, and the broader internet — and we will act decisively when this AUP is violated.

1. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on our platform:

Hacking and Unauthorized Access

  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any computer system, network, or account
  • Distributing, hosting, or operating exploit kits, hacking tools, or attack scripts
  • Participating in coordinated attacks against any third-party system or service
  • Port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or probing networks without explicit authorization from the target owner

Spam and Unsolicited Email

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) from or through our servers
  • Harvesting email addresses from websites or other sources for bulk mailing purposes
  • Operating mail relay services that are open to abuse
  • Any mailing practice that violates the CAN-SPAM Act or applicable anti-spam laws

Malware and Malicious Content

  • Hosting, distributing, or operating malware, ransomware, spyware, adware, or any software designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems
  • Operating phishing sites, fraudulent storefronts, or pages designed to deceive users into divulging credentials or personal information
  • Hosting command-and-control (C2) infrastructure for botnets or malware campaigns

Illegal Content and Activities

  • Hosting or distributing content that is illegal under United States federal law or North Carolina state law
  • Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors (CSAM). We will report such material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement
  • Facilitating fraud, identity theft, or other financial crimes
  • Hosting content that promotes or facilitates violence or terrorism

Copyright and Intellectual Property

  • Hosting or distributing content in knowing violation of another party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
  • Operating piracy sites, torrent trackers, or similar platforms for distributing infringing material

Resource Abuse

  • Consuming server resources — CPU, memory, disk I/O, or bandwidth — in a manner that degrades service for other customers
  • Operating cryptocurrency mining operations
  • Running processes or scripts that are not related to normal website operation

2. Suspension for Compromised or Misbehaving Sites

If your site is determined to be compromised — whether through malware injection, unauthorized access, or any other means — or is actively engaging in harmful behavior such as sending spam, participating in DDoS attacks, or serving malicious content, we may suspend your account immediately and without prior notice.

Suspension will remain in effect until the problem has been identified and remediated to our satisfaction. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you and to assist you in resolving the issue, but we cannot guarantee that suspended services will be restored. In cases of repeated compromise or failure to remediate, we may terminate your account.

3. Enforcement and Termination

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. Upon confirming a violation, we may take any or all of the following actions at our sole discretion:

  • Issue a warning and require corrective action
  • Suspend specific services or your entire account
  • Permanently terminate your account
  • Report the activity to relevant law enforcement agencies
  • Take legal action where warranted

We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking action in cases involving security threats, spam, illegal content, or other urgent violations.

4. Refunds on Termination

If your account is terminated for a violation of this AUP, any refund — including whether a refund is issued at all — is entirely at our discretion. We may provide a full refund, a partial refund, or no refund, based on the nature and severity of the violation and any costs we incurred as a result.

Domain registration and renewal fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Setup fees and fees for third-party services are likewise non-refundable.

5. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to any person or organization, at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to the grounds listed in this AUP. We may also decline to restore service to a previously terminated account.

6. Reporting Violations

If you are aware of an account or site on our platform that is violating this AUP, please report it to hello@propagatehosting.com. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action, though we may not be able to disclose the outcome of our review.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of our services after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We will notify you of material changes by email.
